Hair Dye Tracker & Journey is a mobile application developed by faye.rocks that allows users to track their hair color changes over time using photos, tags, and notes. The app is designed with privacy as a core principle.

2. Data Storage

All data you create within the app is stored exclusively on your device using AsyncStorage (local device storage). This includes:

• Diary entries (dates, color names, brands, notes)
• Photos you attach to entries (stored locally on your device filesystem)
• App settings and preferences

No data is stored on external servers, cloud services, or any infrastructure outside your device.

3. Photos & Gallery Access

The app requests permission to access your device's photo gallery so you can select photos for your diary entries. This access is:

• Granted only with your explicit permission through the system permission dialog
• Used solely to let you pick or take photos for your entries
• Never used to scan, upload, or analyze your photo library

Photos you select are copied to the app's local storage. They are never transmitted to any server.

4. No Data Collection

This app does not:

• Collect any personal data
• Send data to external servers
• Include analytics or tracking tools
• Use third-party advertising SDKs
• Require account creation or sign-in
• Use cookies or similar tracking technologies

5. Export & Import

The app includes a backup feature that lets you export your diary as a JSON file and import it on another device. This process is:

• Entirely user-initiated — nothing is exported automatically
• The export file is saved to your device's local storage
• Sharing the export file (if you choose to) is handled by your device's share sheet and is outside the app's control
• No data is sent to our servers during export or import

6. Internet Access

The app does not require an internet connection to function. The only network activity that may occur is:

• Expo Updates check: The app framework (Expo) may check for over-the-air updates when the app launches. This does not transmit any of your personal data or diary content. This check can be disabled in the app's build configuration.

7. Children's Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect any data from children or any other users. Since all data remains on the device and no information is transmitted, there is no data collection concern for users of any age.

8. GDPR Compliance

Since Hair Dye Tracker & Journey does not collect, process, or store any personal data on external servers, the typical GDPR data processing obligations do not apply. All data remains under your sole control on your device. You can delete all app data at any time through the app's settings or by uninstalling the app.
